I am interested in becoming a pharmacy tech. Can you study on your own before taking the certification exam or do you have to actually attend a program? I already have experience working as a doctor trained medical assistant.
Can you take the pharmacy tech exam without schooling?

I know, atleast in Michigan, you dont have to take a course from an accredited school or anything, but some colleges have courses and there are many different manuals you can buy online. You definitely want to study for it! Be sure to know calculations, generic and brand name drugs, and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy. A good source would be PTCB.org, they explain the procedures to take the exam to be certified. Good Luck!!
