I’m about to start a job as a biomedical technician at a hospital, I don’t if i will like it but the only reason I got into it is because of my electronics degree. I know I want to do something else eventually since the hospital will pay for me to go to school, but I don’t know what. I was thinking about being a X-Ray Tech, cause I know I don’t want to fix those machines forever. Does anyone know if X-Ray techs get payed more or less than BMET’s, or if the work is less stressful than a BMET, or basically would the move be a step up or a step down?

I’m a recent grad with a BA in Psychology. Unfortunately I choose a competitive field to go into, and I no longer wish to further my education in this field as I once did. I’m very much contemplating going into the medical field in different avenues. I’ve thought about NMT and X-Ray tech. NMTs make more here in FL. I know the market is horrible for ALL jobs, but I hear it’s very hard to get a job as an NMT. Is it any different for an X-Ray tech/Rad? Should I stay out of these fields altogether? I didn’t want to go the RN route…anyone have suggestions as to which is better employment wise/money wise? Thanks.

Hey, I hear people go on and on about trying to get into this TOP college or that TOP college…..but…..when we’re talking about careers in GENERAL…is a 4 year school that much better than 2 year/tech/community colleges? I ask this because I see several career options at technical colleges that pay pretty decent.
