I am applying to Physician Assistant school and I need to get certified in something in the healthcare field to get my patient care hours. The quickest I found was a certificate in surgical technology-Central Processing Distribution Tech. Which would take a semester. I was wondering what specific jobs could I get with this certificate?

I’ve seen a couple posters mention these via links, but are they really that common? I saw only 1 program listed for Massachusetts with tution at over $30,000 per year. And Massachusetts has TONS of top tier hospitals.
I already have my BA in another subject, so I would prefer not to get an Associates degree if I do not have to.
Ew yeah an associates program seems quicker and easier. I could probably get credit for the liberal arts classes I already have too.

I I apply to many hospital positions but never hear back. I do have prior work experience and I do plan to pursue a rad tech training program in the future. But til then I cant find a job. Any advice????

i got my certificate back in 1989 and want to know if i have to take the whole course again. i never really worked as a medical assistant and recently got my certification as a phlebotomy tech.

I plan to be a pharmacist and right now I’m taking my pre-reqs. I wanted to know if I could get a job as a pharm-tech even if I don’t have the certificate. I know someone whois working at a pharmacy and have yet to complete the program, but they’re in a pharm-tech program right now. Also, is there any thing I could do ( volunteer work, etc. ) that would put me ahead of others who are trying to apply to a pharmacy college?

I want to become an x-ray tech. but don’t want to go for a 2 year associates degree, i would first want a certificate and then after i get my certificate, work and be going for my associates. anyone that knows about any schools near by Pomona, Diamond Bar, Walnut, Upland, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino where i can get a certificate, not an associates.
