Hey, I’m an NAII and would like to take phlebotomy, and EKG class next. I’m also a med tech. There is a school not far from my house that offers a Medical Assisting program, however, the program itself only consiss of those three courses, phlebotomy, EKG, and med tech. Combined withe the skills I already have, would I be able to sit for the State test for Medical Assistants?? I asked 3 different nurses at my job that said yes, however, it would be up to the employer if they want to hire you. Your opinion??

Okay, I’m going to be blunt with you guys. I have no experience in any type of pharmacy work but I have decided to go into the pharmacy path. To be a Pharm tech, you have to take the PTCB test, so can anyone tell me what are the major components of the test. Also, I want to know what are the best combination of books to study from in order to pass the test? If someone can tell me these things it would be great. THANKS!!

i’m planning on studying for it on my own. also i heard that it is possible for me to get a job with a pharmacy before taking the exam and they would help train me for it. is that true? i’m really interested in becoming a pharmacist tech so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Can I take the Pharmacy Tech Certification exam without taking a course? I have found many books online and I can learn a lot on my own. I just don’t think I can afford taking an online course at this time.

I hear some people buy textbooks and study to take the national cert. exam without attending a college. if anyone has became a tech this way what textbooks did you buy(need name and isbn number for book) and was the exam difficult and did you get a state lic to practice. i live in louisiana.

Im a Chemistry major and Im looking into a career in Pharmacy in California. I want a Pharmacy technician job real bad but my only job experience is as a busboy at a restaurant. I wanted to know if I want to get a Pharmacy tech job should I take a course first or should I just try taking the PTCB exam first. Im good at math and have experience in lab work from my Chemistry classes. I bought a practice exam book to help me study for the exam.
