I am currently in school to become a surgical technician an I hope I am not wasting my time in this field if it will be hard to find work in. I have researched and it is a profession that is expected to grow alot but when I look on on hospitals career websites I see no jobs avail just RN I was gong to go to school to become an RN but the waiting list are forever the test to get int the program is hard and I want my education now may go for RN later but no time soon

I am thinking about going back to school in the fall to begin training for a new career in the medical/healthcare field. Can anyone please give me some info on different options (nurse, x-ray tech, mri tech, etc, etc, etc) and what they involve and what they pay? I am not sure exactly what field I would like to get into and what is involved with each field. I am also wondering what has the best job outlook and what pay scale to expect for different things. i am a junior in high school and im almost done with my junior year. my cumalative gpa isnt all that well because i screwed up freshman year and stuff but im interested in fashion but that probably wont bring me anywhere and i want to find a descent career that makes a lot of money. i would like to be a pharmacist but would i have to start off by being a pharmacist technician? i have heard that you only have to go to pharmacy tech school for 6 months to be a pharmacist tech, but im wondering what other jobs are there in the medical field that i can go through thats not too hard. i’ve been taking a lot of science classes in hs. Also, what colleges do you guys recommend for having a career path in the medical field. Since my cumalitive gpa isnt that high, im planning on going to a community college and then transfer to a university. i would like to either go to school in Chicago, IL or somewhere in Southern California. What colleges would you recommend?
Would Radiology (X-Ray Tech, MRI, etc…) be a good field to go into if i am 37 and looking to change careers?

I’m 37, been a high school teacher for 7 years and an administrator for another 5. i am looking for a serious change and would like to go into a strong field with good pay, professional atmosphere, and flexibility. My main concern is that I am not a very “scientific” person…can it still work out?

I actually want to major in ultrasound technology but i heard that you have to major in xray first…so I was just wondering…how popular the demand is for that particular job??

For instance, I, am in high school and am currently taking both band and ag class. At this point, I am undecided because I love both classes and look forward to a career in either. Of course, I still don’t know what I plan to go into, but if I were wanting to get into an Ag related field, say vet tech or veterinary itself, would I be able to get in without the high school credits?
Is CADD a good field to major in college?

I take Vo-Tech (Vocational Technical) school and my class is CADD (Computer Aided Drafting Design). I’m a junior and for my senior year, I’m going to take architecture. I’m thinking about going to college for architecture but what I want to know is, If I take architecture, will CADD be apart of it? I mean, are they two separate majors because I’m searching for colleges and I don’t want to pick the wrong major. Can you please tell me if CADD is a good field to major in?

Im not just talking about pharmacutical companies, Im talking about the medicince world in general. Im 19, I work as a pharmacy tech in two hospitals, and I am planning to go into psychopharmacology, (the study of medications effects and behavior on the brain). Many people have looked down on that, basically saying its like a tobacco company, its corrupted.
Now, I do agree that pharmacutial companies are VERY greedy, and i think its horrible that they create medications that have harmed so many people, (from personal experience from someone in my family). I also agree, that people are depending on pills to help them with everything. From ADD, to pain, to helping lose cellulite, to even having longer eyelashes! And, that doctors are horrible (I wont get into that, lol) but they get money from these companies, spend 10, 15 mintues tops with a patient, and there you go, you got yourself a prescription for vicoden or amphetamines.
BUT, what about those people who actually want to do good, and not bad and be selfish and powerful? Im not going into this field for money, but Im doing it because i can say i really so love to go to work, and learn about what each and every medication does. It really is a passion for me! I mean, what 19 year old can say they love going to their two jobs and get books at the library about pharamcology? I know what i want to do in life, and no one can change my opinion, but whats your thoughts? im really interested, and im open to new viewpoints:) thanks!
