Right now I’m working on a B.S. in Biology. After graduation I would like to go back and get certified in something in the medical field, though i do not want to be a Dr. I was looking at being an x-ray tech. or maybe a sonographer. Will my B.S help me in getting a job to start? Higher Salary? Promotions?
Any thoughts you have on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

My husband has been offered a new position at work. Before he was a Bio Medical tech..and now they want to?

they want to know a new figure (pay) ..
is there a rule about what an increase in pay should be if hired internally.
he makes around 45,000 now.. is 65,000 too much?
thing is..with the new position.. he doesnt get tuition reinbursement..so for his remaining grad school we would have to pay out of pocket.. (4/5 classes remainig)
is it worth it?

I might be studying either Nursing, Radiography, or Respiratory Tech. I would take these up online but from what I understand online courses for the medical field usually requires you to hold an “Associate” degree first.
Can a multi-tech sit for the Certified Medical Assisting Exam?

Hey, I’m an NAII and would like to take phlebotomy, and EKG class next. I’m also a med tech. There is a school not far from my house that offers a Medical Assisting program, however, the program itself only consiss of those three courses, phlebotomy, EKG, and med tech. Combined withe the skills I already have, would I be able to sit for the State test for Medical Assistants?? I asked 3 different nurses at my job that said yes, however, it would be up to the employer if they want to hire you. Your opinion??

Has anyone graduated from a DMS program from a tech school and been successful at landing a job? I am seriously thinking about going through the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at a tech school. It’s expensive but doesn’t take as long to finish as community college. I’m curious as to how many people actually land jobs after graduating from schools like CCA, Maric, etc. I don’t want to get ripped off. I appreciate any honest answers.

I live in New Orleans and the only 2 schools that are accredited only offer a certificate program. Does anyone know if these schools can or might let me go for an associates? If not, how much does a Ultrasound Tech make starting out at a job with a certificate???? Thanks

just wanted to know. My friend is looking into the profession and he asked what do they do and I said I think that’s an ex-ray tech. Am I correct or is that why they are limited?
