I am taking an online correspondence course for BCIS at Texas Tech University in order to get my mandatory technology course at King High School out of the way. Will the final grade of the correspondence course count on my transcript and GPA (some people i asked said no, I don’t know if they are right)?

hi, i want to be a vet tech but there are not programs in the san diego area. i was thinking about enrolling in penn foster’s online program but am somewhat skeptical as to how reading stuff on a computer would give me experience in a medical field. and once i did graduate, would people take an online degree seriously and be willing to give me a job, even though i had very little hands on experience? its like a brain surgeon reading a book on operating and then trying to go out in the field, right? help!

I want to become a veterinary technician from an online school that is AVMA accredited. Don’t tell me about “my local colleges” because trust me, i’ve looked into it. I was looking at Penn Foster, and it seems that will be my choice. But i’ve heard bad reviews. University of Phoenix/Axia DOES NOT offer vet tech courses, i’ve checked. So if anyone knows of anything of the sort, let me know.

I’m currently in college, but have to wait another year to get into the program of my major (Surgical Technology). In the meantime, I enrolled in an online program to become a pharmacy tech because I no longer wish to remain in my current job. Has anyone else taken an online course and had any luck finding a job in the field they studied? Is it easy to gain employment when you have studied online instead of in a traditional classroom setting?
Currently, there are no colleges in my area that offer Pharmacy tech programs, so my only option was to study online. Any answers?

I keep getting all these e-mails for an on-line associates degree for medical transcription and other careers in the healthcare field, I have been tempted to do it but I wanted to know how employers view an online education versus going to the tech/trade school, is the degree online just as valid

I’m trying to find information about online vet tech schools, but can’t seem to find much. I live in Ohio but there are no schools offering this program near where I live. First of all I am wondering if they are accredited, & also if you have to have any pre req’s before beginning the online vet tech program. My final question is regarding hands on experience, I’m wondering if you are supposed to do “clinicals” during some point before becoming license, or if you just learn after you have a job. (My mom is a vet tech, so it wouldnt be a big deal either way, I could work under her for a while) If anyone has any information at all please let me know!
