Online Correspondence Course for High School Credit at Texas Tech University?

04 Sep

I am taking an online correspondence course for BCIS at Texas Tech University in order to get my mandatory technology course at King High School out of the way. Will the final grade of the correspondence course count on my transcript and GPA (some people i asked said no, I don’t know if they are right)?

I’m going to school to be a radiology tech.. I’d like to continue on to be an interventional radiologist but?

08 Jun

So I am currently doing a two year program to become a radiology tech. Eventually I’d like to go into the UW’s graduate medicine program to study interventional radiology and become an actual radiologist. Is this possible? Will an associates be considered good enough for a graduate program? Or should I just give up the 2 years and go straight into UW’s 4 year program? I know that its 4 additional years through med school and then another 4 years of residency… but i guess i’m just asking if i just do the 2 year associates before hand if that will work? I know I should ask the school, buts 11 pm, and being me…i like instant gratiification. Any help would be appreciated! =D thanks.

Thinking about going to back to school in the health care/medical field?

08 Jun

I am thinking about going back to school in the fall to begin training for a new career in the medical/healthcare field. Can anyone please give me some info on different options (nurse, x-ray tech, mri tech, etc, etc, etc) and what they involve and what they pay? I am not sure exactly what field I would like to get into and what is involved with each field. I am also wondering what has the best job outlook and what pay scale to expect for different things. Thanks!

4-Year College Alternatives? Trade/Tech School Careers?

07 Jun

Hey, what are some alternatives to 4-year college in which you can land a pretty rewarding career that is atleast decent in pay?

Perhaps some of you are involved in or know of some career paths that have specialized schools where I can obtain a certificate, diploma, associates, etc. in 2 years or less and be ready for work? (High Demand Careers preferably)
hmmm, can you elaborate a little more for me? Have you been able to obtain a job with your associates from there?

how do I find an accredited medical school other than community colleges and universities?

07 Jun

I might be studying either Nursing, Radiography, or Respiratory Tech. I would take these up online but from what I understand online courses for the medical field usually requires you to hold an “Associate” degree first.

Trouble deciding between a community college or vocational school?

06 Jun

I’m interested in being a Medical Assistant. I’m frustrated with the community college because they only offer an associates degree- not necessary for working as a CMA. I found a for-profit vocational school that offers a diploma in the course.

CMAs don’t make much money at all. I feel that taking a degree program would waste time. There may be a waiting list for the community college’s program. However the community college has 100% job placement. I became a CNA through the community college, so I’m familiar with it.

Here is the community college website:

http://www.gtcc.edu/academic/health/medical/

My concerns with the vocational school are that it will be expensive. (The cost is NOT listed on their site) Also that training ill not be as good. However I know it will be quicker.

Here is the vocational school’s website:

Any suggestions or advice?

Which vocational school is best for me?

05 Jun

So, It is between american career college in anaheim, uei in anaheim, or concorde college in garden grove, I am graduating from high school in June and I know i want to become a pharmacy tech.
I read so many reviews saying these schools are bad, I am the type of person who takes reviews into consideration, but mostly these reviews were criticizing these schools on training to become a lvn ( nurse), that is not what I am going for. I really want to make the right choice. To be honest, 2 or 4 year college is not for me, i rather stick to the career i want, I do not want to go back to the basic general classes again, please give me advice on any of these schools.
I am leaning more towards ACC. Thank you .
